when I think of you

Iris said tonight, "Carole, when I think of you in my mind, I think of you as the mommy who is telling me so many things. I think of you as the Mommy Who Says So Many Things."

I expected her to go on to specify that I should shut up more, but she left it at that.

In light of this current post, perhaps it's time to add another item to the "too much" list of your blog description? ;-)

Although you probably have a better grasp of what she meant from the tone of voice she used, I think it's worth nothing that "says so many things" has a positive interpretation.

Reflecting on my own childhood experiences, I wish both of my parents had listened to me and answered my questions about things. .. I was hungry for someone to tell me "so many things".

My 3 1/2 year old daughter is moving into the iterative "Why" phase, and I find her questions as fascinating as they are challenging.

my mom said so many things too. mainly along the lines of "shut up" and "i'm going to kill you!" i'm thinking your chatter is more enlightening.
