not Shrub, no

"Can you pray to the President?" Lola asked.

She couldn't understand why we --- Anton, Iris, and I --- reacted with horror.

What about Clinton, I understand a lot of women were down on their knees for HIM.

(tongue planted firmly in cheek)

I don't know if horror was the best response to Lola's question. To me this could have been a teachable moment, where you could have explored the concept of free inquiry and the rights conveyed under the First Amendment.

I'm sure with some nonjudgmental dialogue and critical thought-inspiring questions, she would have come to the conclusion that The First Church of W would be a faith of limited effectiveness and questionable track record.

If all else fails, you could try to argue that the restrictions on titles of nobility for office holders in Article 1, Section 9, in the U.S. Constitution make it impossible for a president to assume the concurrent role of deity, at least without the consent of congress.
